BLM completes law firm acquisition

Insurance law giant BLM has completed the acquisition of Campbell Fitzpatrick Solicitors (CFS), which brings eight new partners and an additional 21 legal experts to the company.

The combination of the two is a "significant development in BLM’s strategy" which will "enhance its physical presence and expertise across core areas of business".

Peter Campbell, managing partner at CFS, joins BLM as the leader of the Ireland business, overseeing activity in its Belfast, Dublin and Londonderry offices.

"We have now further strengthened our ability to work throughout the UK and Ireland," said Campbell. "Our combination is mutually beneficial, in terms of both geographical reach and importantly, in allowing us to support more customers, across more lines of business."

Mike Brown, senior partner at BLM, added: "CFS was one of the largest and most progressive legal practices in Northern Ireland. Bringing them into the BLM fold makes us a stronger player in the insurance law firm market on a broader scale."

BLM initially revealed its intention to acquire CFS in September.
