Grafton acquires Crescent Building Supplies

Dublin-headquartered building and DIY company Grafton Group has acquired Crescent Building Supplies in a deal which is set to improve its presence in the South East of England.

Grafton has acquired the company, which had revenue of £10.5m for the year end 31 March 2014, in a bolt-on acquisition.

Crescent is a general merchanting business which trades from three branches in West London and one in Berkshire.

Grafton told the stock exchange that the deal "improves the group's coverage of the merchanting market in West London and the South East of England".

This is the third acquisition Grafton had made in as many months. At the start of September the company acquired Direct Builders Merchants before buying Brussels-based Gedimat-Ginion.
