Chamber to visit Westminster for manifesto launch
Representatives from more than 50 companies across the East Midlands will visit the Houses of Parliament tomorrow (25 November 2014) to outline their demands for the next government.
The delegation, led by The East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, will meet will local MPs and launch its 2015 General Election business manifesto.
The document has been prepared by the chamber in collaboration with businesses across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. It proposes measures that the chamber believes could stimulate economic growth in the region and support a "vibrant and prosperous" East Midlands.
Chamber chief executive George Cowcher said: "Over the course of the current parliament, businesses in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire have demonstrated a robustness, tenacity and ambition that has placed the East Midlands at the front of the pack in terms of driving economic growth and private sector job creation.
"However, decisions taken over the term of the next parliament will be instrumental in determining the future direction of this growth."
