Deadline for Pera funding competition nears
Small and medium-sized companies in the West Midlands have been urged to enter the second round of a multimillion-pound innovation competition ahead of its deadline later this month.
Pera Technology is searching for SME engineering and manufacturing businesses which are seeking finance to develop new product and process ideas.
The chosen businesses will receive a fully funded application to the European Commission's Horizon 2020 science and innovation fund.
Launched earlier this year, the fund provides grants of between £40,000 and £2m to turn new product ideas into commercial prototypes.
Emma Rynberk, Pera Technology's manager for the West Midlands, said: "We've witnessed a fantastic response following the first round of the competition and it's great to see that the West Midlands is home to so many innovative businesses.
"However, I would urge any SMEs who haven't done so yet to enter the competition before the November deadline and give themselves a great chance turning a bright idea in a commercial reality."
To enter businesses need to provide details of their new product idea on Pera Technology's Horizon 2020 competition website before the deadline on Friday 21 November 2014.
