Funding awarded to HPT groups

Two enterprise partnerships in East Midlands have awarded almost £2m to companies in the high performance technology (HPT) sector.

The Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP) and South East Midlands Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) have awarded a total of £1.9m to four companies in the Northamptonshire and the south east Midlands.

The £4m joint-initiative, known as the HPT R&D Investment Programme, is backed by the Regional Growth Fund (RGF). It offers grants of up to £1m for HPT business to carry out large-scale research projects.

The companies that have received grant approval so far are Northampton-based manufacturer GE Precision Engineering, AMG Systems, Ecospeed Marine and Cosworth.

Other projects have also been approved for grants subject to due diligence, which are expected to be announced soon.
