HCB acquires Black Country firm

Midlands law and accountancy firm HCB Group has bolstered its presence in the Black Country with the acquisition of a Walsall practice.

Clive Shepherd & Co and its staff will move into HCB's offices in Lichfield Street which were acquired in 2011 when Hadens joined the group.

Clive Shepherd formed in 1985 and specialises in family law, property law, wills, trusts and probate law.

HCB chief executive Mike Gahan said: "Our latest acquisition strengthens our Midlands offering and brings on board a well-respected team of lawyers who have great knowledge of the communities in and around Walsall and the Black Country.

"We will be introducing our unique brand of legal and financial services to their clients which includes calling on our experts throughout the country at any time."

In the past year, the firm has expanded its operations to offer financial services throughout the group through a merger with HCB Accountants.

Gahan added: "So many legal matters have interwoven financial aspects and our clients can now receive expert legal and financial advice under one roof."

HCB Solicitors has expanded rapidly with a growing team of 80 city-trained lawyers and 20 offices across the Midlands, North West and South East.

Its Midlands bases are in Solihull, Birmingham, Lichfield, Redditch, Alcester, Stratford- upon-Avon, Sutton Coldfield, Leicester and Walsall.
