Lloyds backs new play centre venture

A new children's play centre is set to open in Shropshire, creating five jobs, with the support of a £140,000 loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Monkey Mania will be based on Ludlow Business Park in Ludlow and will offer indoor soft play facilities for more than 100 children.

The business was established by parent company ASE Plumbing & Heating Supplies Ltd.

Director Adam Pearce approached the Hereford office of Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking for support, and the bank provided the loan to fund the renovation of a 3,200 sq ft space in his business premises, as well as the purchase of play equipment for the centre.

The business also plans to further expand the centre in the coming months by creating crèche facilities and making its utility rooms available to hire.

Pearce said: "With two young children of my own, I recognised the need for more play facilities in the local area, and saw an opportunity to renovate a space in my existing business premises to start a new venture.

"The funding provided by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has been instrumental in allowing me to accelerate my plans, and I now look forward to the opening of Monkey Mania and my plans to add new community facilities in the future."

Funding was granted using the Funding for Lending Scheme.

Neil Herbert, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking in Hereford, added: "Monkey Mania is a fantastic new start-up, that will provide a wide range of facilities for the Ludlow community, and the new jobs that are being created are a boost for the local economy."
