Midland Caliper move to create jobs

Coalville-based Midland Caliper Centre has purchased a 13,500 sq ft premises and is creating jobs thanks to a six-figure funding deal.

Established in 2002, the family-run Leicestershire business operates UK-wide and specialises in the reconditioning and sale of commercial vehicle brake calipers.

Looking to increase its headcount and having outgrown the current 4,500 sq ft leased premises, Midland Caliper founder and managing director Mick Bunney approached NatWest to secure a six-figure loan.

He said: "We were at a pivotal moment in the business' 12-year history and expanding so quickly that a property move was essential to our future. Making the decision to buy premises rather than rent was something we'd always dreamed of."

Four new roles will be created within the next year ‒ taking headcount to 35 – following the move to Comet Way.

"We now have the room to expand our services, take on new staff and also hope to double turnover within the next few years," Bunney added.

Lee Bredariol, senior relationship manager for NatWest, said: "Congratulations to the team on completing the move to these impressive new premises, which in turn is creating new jobs and boosting the local economy.

"We are proud to be a part of their continued growth and look forward to supporting the company with their future plans."
