Morgan Tucker grows London presence
Newark-headquartered engineering consultancy Morgan Tucker is expanding its presence in London with the acquisition of Bolton Priestley.
Part of a wider £2m expansion strategy, the transaction will increase staff numbers in the capital to 30 employees.
All of the current Bolton Priestley employees will move to the Morgan Tucker office in Farringdon by 10 November (2014).
Morgan Tucker employs 80 staff across its three offices in Newark, Leeds and London and has plans in place to increase this to more than 200 by 2020.
Managing director Matthew Tucker said: "This acquisition of Bolton Priestley will further develop our client services in the capital by expanding our structural engineering division there.
"We have worked with the firm for over 18 months on a number of projects in London utilising their expertise, so it made sense for us to make the move permanent and have more resource at our disposal as we work towards our ambitious growth plan.
"The development of our structural engineering capabilities in London will enable us to add value to our client offerings in the city."
He added that Bolton Priestley had a "very strong" client base in the city, particularly in the healthcare sector an area where Morgan Tucker is looking to expand.
Austin Moore Law in Nottingham worked with Morgan Tucker on the deal with corporate finance advice coming from Eastwood Anglo.
