One Stop launches cluster of West Mids shops
A string of new One Stop stores have opened across the Stoke-on-Trent area in the past two months, after the Tesco-owned retailer secured a number of new franchisees in the area.
The Walsall-headquartered group launched five new stores, which switched from various other franchises and were refitted and re-opened between October and November.
The new branches include a 1,000 sq ft unit in Stone, a 2,700 sq ft store on Dividy Road, Stoke, and a village unit in Barlaston.
John Miller, head of franchise operations at One Stop, said: "It’s great from a customer perspective to see the One Stop brand growing amongst independent retailers; it’s also handy to show potential franchisees a number of different types of store within a 10-15 mile radius.
"As our franchise estate continues to grow, these clusters will become more and more of a regular occurrence."
Earlier this month, Insider revealed that sales had surged by £70m at One Stop in the year to 22 February 2014.
The group said the expansion of its franchising operation would be a "significant source of growth" in the coming years.
