Solar fund agrees Shropshire buy

A planned solar farm in Shropshire with the potential to power 3,000 houses has changed hands in an £11.7m deal.

NextEnergy Solar Fund (NESF) has agreed to buy the 10.2MWp Condover solar power plant, which will cover 61 acres and was granted planning permission in July.

Condover will be constructed under an engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC) negotiated by NESF's investment manager NextEnergy Capital.

In the event Condover is not commissioned by March 2015, NESF said it has the right to terminate the agreement and not acquire the plant.

Condover will house more than 35,000 solar panels on Green Farm, near Shrewsbury. Plans for the scheme were submitted by Solar Building Company.
