Digital initiative targets North East growth
A digital initiative, which has the aim of bringing both economic growth and tourism to the North East, has launched.
The Discover Tees Valley website will feature business and community directories, as well as regular networking events for businesses, which the platform's founder believes will benefit the economy in the long run as part of an attempt to bring more jobs to the region.
Plans are also in place to raise the profile of Tees Valley both nationally and internationally.
Michael Janes, who co-founded the site along with Mark Burton and Carl Quartermain, said: "We're very passionate about Tees Valley, and we're tired of hearing about how it is the worst place to live.
"By making changes through digital media and promoting the beautiful parts of the area, we can certainly change people's perceptions.
"If we all band together as a community, we can make a real difference."
Quartermain, director of communications, added: "We're encouraging other businesses and communities to join the initiative and work holistically so we can all make a real difference to the tourism opportunities in the area. This way we can all benefit."
