Former airport boss checks in at CES Group

A former chairman of regeneration body Tees Valley Unlimited and ex-managing director of a North East airport has been appointed chief executive of Stockton-based CES Group.

Hugh Lang started work at Teesside Airport (now Durham Tees Valley) in 2001 and has also worked as a non-executive director of South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust.

CES Group is a community interest company and operates the Stockton GoWarm scheme, which has installed energy efficiency measures into thousands of homes across the area.

Lang said: "GoWarm has got a superb track record for delivering area based schemes, and that’s despite the fact we are operating in a very volatile market.

"My plan is to build on our existing strengths and to maximise our flexibility, which means we can take advantage of opportunities when they arise.

"We have a fantastic team in place with really good, experienced people who have an enviable track record in delivering area-based schemes with great results. I look forward to helping the company build on its already successful reputation."

Lang has spent most of his career looking after airports, having his remit extended to both Liverpool and Doncaster airports while in charge at Teesside.

He joined the board of CES in 2013 and took over as interim chief executive before this most recent appointment.
