Kitchen designer to expand following acquisitionBy Matthew Ord, Digital Staff Writer
A Newcastle-based company which designs and installs commercial kitchens has been acquired by entrepreneur Blake Robinson, who now plans to expand the business into new areas.
Facilitated by Gordon Brown Law Firm’s commercial and corporate department, the deal saw Robinson, who also owns Exordia Training, acquire Catering Solutions (North East) for an undisclosed amount.
As well as expanding the business, Robinson aims to establish a catering academy over the next 18 months, which will provide apprenticeships and job opportunities within the hospitality industry.
Robinson said: "I saw this as a great opportunity to acquire a successful local firm – Catering Solutions (North East) has a fantastic reputation with strong repeat business and good referrals from blue chip organisations down to the individually owned takeaways and cafes.
"My focus now is on growing the company, and providing jobs and opportunities for young people and the long term unemployed in the local area."
Paul Crawley, solicitor at Gordon Brown Law Firm, added: "It was a pleasure to help Mr Robinson throughout this acquisition.
"This has not only secured the jobs of the company’s current staff, but, as the business grows, further employment opportunities are likely to be created for people in the local area. We wish Mr Robinson all the best for the future."
