Sage completes £96.9m deal

Newcastle-headquartered software giant Sage has completed its £96.9m acquisition of US payroll provider PayChoice.

Sage confirmed the deal had been completed in a trading update this morning.

At the time of the original announcement in September, Sage said the deal would strengthen its position in the "large and growing" US payroll market.

Pascal Houillon, chief executive of Sage North America, said: "PayChoice is an excellent business, with a strong management team, attractive cloud platform and a proven business model based on supporting the needs of SMBs and licensees."

Robert Digby, chief executive of PayChoice, added: "PayChoice is thrilled to become a part of Sage. We already share so many synergies: our heritage of supporting SMBs, our culture, our emphasis on customer experience, and our focus on accountants and financial institutions."
