Berry & Cooper swoops for rival
Manchester corporate recovery and insolvency group Berry & Cooper has snapped up a Lancashire rival.
The purchase of Chorley-based Clark Lindsay is the first step in Berry & Cooper's ambitious growth strategy.
The directors of Clarke Lindsay, Steve Clark and Peter Clark, will join Berry & Cooper's Manchester team as licensed insolvency practitioners.
Personal insolvency business My Debt & Me will also be incorporated within Berry & Cooper as part of the deal.
Berry & Cooper, which launched in June, has a six-figure business development and acquisition fund to support its growth strategy. It is aiming to launch five offices across the UK in the next 12 months.
Stephen Berry, managing partner of Berry & Cooper, said: "Clark Lindsay is a respected local practice with an established network of clients and we are thrilled to bring them into the Berry & Cooper fold.
"Steve and Peter arrive with a combined industry experience of more than 40 years, which is sure to add real depth and insight to our service proposition.
"This acquisition is an early but important step in our long-term development plans for the business and it signals our intention to build a high-quality practice providing bespoke solutions to businesses and their professional advisers."
Jonathan Cooper, director at Berry & Cooper, added: "Our physical and professional footprint will continue to expand over the next 18 months as we pursue organic and acquisition growth.
"The expertise within the Clark Lindsay team will help to underpin and develop that strategy and we move forward together with great optimism."
