Brabners to buy Lawson Coppock & Hart

North West law firm Brabners has agreed to buy Lawson Coppock & Hart, a historic private client and commercial law practice.

Lawson Coppock & Hart has been part of the Manchester legal scene since the 1870s. The deal will add three consultants – Paul Lochery, Richard Rawsthorn, and Eamonn Kelly – plus one associate and one secretary to Brabners' Manchester office.

Brabners managing partner Mark Brandwood said: "Lawson Coppock & Hart is a well-established and highly regarded law firm with an excellent reputation in private client and commercial property work. The transaction will significantly increase the size of our private client capability in Manchester, as well as adding to our commercial property offering."

Paul Lochery of Lawson Coppock & Hart added: "Despite the difference in size between the two firms we share many common aims and values. These include a determination to work closely with clients to provide a wide range of effective client-focused legal services which deliver value for money."

The deal will become effective on 1 November 2014. In addition to its Manchester office, Brabners has a presence in Liverpool and Preston.
