Innovation funding scheme unveiled

A funding programme to support innovation and business growth in Lancashire is to launch next year.

Lancashire Innovates is a pilot scheme which aims to support 30 businesses in the county. An average of £35,000 worth of subsidised training will be provided to stimulate growth and skills.

It has been developed by Inovaris with Lancashire County Council, in partnership with PERA Training, and Ingeus.

Andrew Leeming, senior project officer at Lancashire County Council, said: "Lancashire Innovates aims to help companies understand that embedding a culture of innovation can present a significant return on investment, supporting a stream of continuous ideas to help grow businesses.

"The programme provides an opportunity for employers to plug their skills gap, and for individuals to develop their own skills and knowledge."

Lancashire Innovates is supported by the European Social Fund.
