Shortlists revealed for Dealmakers Awards 2014
Insider can today reveal the shortlists for the prestigious North West Dealmakers Awards 2014. The awards evening celebrates the region's top performers over the past 12 months and this year's event takes place on 20 November 2014 at Manchester Central. It is already close to being a sell-out.
The annual dinner has become a key date in the North West business calendar and is designed to reward the efforts of people in the corporate finance field who are at the very top of their game.
The voting for this year's North West Dealmakers Awards has more rigorous than ever before.
A pre-judging session consisting of several of last year's winners was followed by a lengthy judging session held on the 28th floor of City Tower in Manchester.
The new-look and enlarged judging panel consisted of: Ian Currie, founder, Seneca Partners; Judith McMath, director, Wells Fargo Capital Finance; Barry Nightingale, finance director, Betfred; Richard Law, chief executive, GB Group; Jeremy Cole, partner, Cole Associates; Neil Thompson, chief financial officer, Manchester Airports Group; and Mike Gibbons, managing director, Mobica. The voting was chaired by North West Business Insider editor Chris Maguire.
This year's Dealmaker of the Year shortlist has been picked by a cross-section of industry experts and will be revealed on the night, together with the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award.
Maguire said: "We had an amazing number of entries and the quality was first class. The integrity of the awards is paramount and that's why we increased the size of the pre-judging and judging sessions. Only the judges were able to vote but by speaking to a lot of last year's winners we were able to listen to the views of the industry. Needless to say any vested interests were declared. The awards evening will be a celebration of a fantastic year in the deals market."
The sponsors of the North West Dealmakers Awards 2014 are Aldermore Invoice Finance; Dean Street Advisors; Four Financial; KBS; Kuits; Leumi ABL; Lockton; Market Invoice; MMU; The North West Fund; OBI Property; Quilter Cheviot Investment Management; UBS; Watson Moore; and Willis Limited.
