Stagecoach motors ahead with staff increase

Strong growth in the North West has led to Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire boosting its team by 55 employees over the last 12 months.

The company, which completed the purchase of First Bus operations in the Chester and Wirral areas in 2013, has grown its team to meet continued demand for its services.

Elisabeth Tasker, managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, said the company is has yet to put the brakes on its recruitment drive as it continues 'reaping the rewards' of its efficient and cost-effective means of travel.

"Our routes covering the Chester and Birkenhead areas are proving particularly popular and we are growing our teams to meet local requirements and ensure we continue to offer the same high levels of service that people have come to expect from us," added Tasker.

Stagecoach has grown its Chester team from 81 staff to 105, whiles its Birkenhead office has grown from 115 to 146.

Stagecoach Bus supports about 24,000 jobs across the UK, including 1,209 jobs in Merseyside and South Lancashire.
