Funding package drives growth at Phoenix

A cargo and freight company, which launched in Bristol earlier this year, has expanded into Plymouth using a six-figure funding package from RBS Invoice Finance.

Headquartered in Abbotts Leigh, Phoenix Cargo Services created two jobs in Plymouth to oversee the logistics arm of the business after securing a £100,000 invoice discounting facility.

"I could not be prouder of what we have achieved so far during the first year of trading and as a local Bristol man it is satisfying to operate a successful business and provide local jobs in my home town," said managing director Mike Godwin.

"We hope the next year will bring further job creation and see a natural growth within our customer base, both here in the UK and globally."

Simon Blay, relationship manager at RBS Invoice Finance, added: "It is always rewarding to help and support a local SME that is doing well and understands the benefits of utilising an invoice finance facility.

"Mike and his directors are well equipped to take this company forward and the invoice discounting facility will allow them to achieve great results as they can dedicate more time on running the business knowing the correct finance facility is in place."
