MMI invests in Bristol
South African insurance company MMI Holdings is expanding its Bristol base with the opening of facility capable of housing 120 staff.
It follows the acquisition of financial technology Blue Speck Financial, which is based in the city, earlier in the year.
MMI said it expects to have created about 100 jobs in Bristol by 2017, with the opening of the new technology offices.
It is part of an announcement made at the UK Investment Summit 2014 in Newport in Wales revealing more than £240m of new investment across Great Britain, creating or safeguarding 1,800 jobs.
Matthew Cross, head of inward investment at Invest Bristol & Bath, the inward investment agency for the region, said: "Bristol and Bath's tech cluster is a highly attractive investment proposition for global businesses seeking to set up a base in a fast-growing hub of technological innovation with internationally recognised credentials and an exceptionally collaborative community of businesses across interlinked sectors."
Prime Minister David Cameron added: "This investment is a vote of confidence in our long-term economic plan and the jobs it will create and safeguard in Wales and across the UK means financial security for more hardworking families."
Hosted by UK and Welsh governments, the UK Investment Summit took place last week at Newport's Celtic Manor.
