Somerset opportunities to be discussed at Insider event
Insider is to host an event debating the challenges and opportunities of running a successful business in Somerset.
If ever an area was primed to take advantage of an upturn in the economy it’s Somerset. High levels of business start-ups, low unemployment and continuous job growth are all evidence of Somerset’s vitality and entrepreneurial spirit.
Although 80 per cent of the county’s economy is made up of businesses employing fewer than 10 people, Somerset is also home to powerhouses like AgustaWestland, Screwfix and Clarks. So how do all these parts fit together? Insider is heading to Yeovil to find out.
Insider’s Doing Business in Somerset breakfast, takes place on 3 October at Yeovil Football Club.
The panellists include Mark Taylor, managing director of Filberts Fine Foods, Jonathan Langdon, a board member of Into Somerset and Mark Porter, managing director of DR Jones.
Delegates will also hear from Justin Hopkins, a partner at Mogers Drewett, Rob Hall at Lloyds Banking Group and Rupert Cox, chief executive of Into Somerset.
The event will discuss what Somerset’s key assets are and how we can better work together to help businesses flourish in the county. What does the county offer from an inward investment perspective?
We’ll look at the investment case for Somerset and find out what it’s really like to do business in the county. To register to attend the debate, please contact Kirsten Sankey on 0161 907 9756.
