SuperGroup names former Co-op boss as CEO
SuperGroup, the retailer behind high street fashion line Superdry, has appointed the former boss of the Co-operative Group as its chief executive.
Euan Sutherland, formerly a non-executive director at the Cheltenham-based company, will become chief executive immediately. Group chief executive Julian Dunkerton will step into the newly created role of founder and product and brand director.
Sutherland's appointment will also allow Dunkerton to focus on developing SuperGroup's product ranges, while enhancing and protecting the brand.
Chairman Peter Bamford said: "Euan's appointment marks another important step in the continued evolution of SuperGroup.
"Euan has the stature, skills, experience and personal style to work in partnership with Julian and lead the team through the next stage of the Company's development."
Dunkerton added: "With the number of opportunities SuperGroup has available and the increasing complexity of the business, now is the right time to bring in a chief executive officer of Euan's calibre.
"Having worked with him on the board for two years, I am certain our skills will be complementary and look forward to delivering the continued growth of the Superdry brand together."
