SW companies make Top Track 250
A total of 13 companies headquartered in the South West have made it onto this year's Sunday Times Top Track 250.
The tenth prestigious annual ranking, which is sponsored by Grant Thornton and Barclays, places the nation's private mid-market growth companies by sales.
There were 13 South West companies on the list, compared to last year's 15. They included Plymouth's The Range (34), which was founded by Chris Dawson in 1989 and achieved sales of £470m in the year to January 2014.
There were three new entrants, including Plymouth-based Princess Yachts (107), Bristol-headquartered energy supplier Ovo Energy (191) and Oak Furniture Land (242), which is based in Swindon.
Tim Lincoln, South West practice leader at Grant Thornton UK, said: "These mid-sized businesses are such an integral part of the UK economy. They continue to thrive and grow, often on an international stage and their achievements are rightly celebrated here in the Top Track 250.
"We listen carefully to them about the barriers, challenges and opportunities that they see and, through our 'Agents of growth' campaign, champion policy changes that will help. We think this dynamic segment of the market is starting to find a voice and is being heard."
