MedicX acquires Briton Ferry healthcare centre

Healthcare property investor MedicX Fund is to acquire a new medical centre in Briton Ferry, Neath Port Talbot.

MedicX has agreed to buy the primary healthcare facility, which is due for completion in October 2015, for more than £3.9m.

It will be let to Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board and two GP practices which will take out 20-year leases upon completion of the facility, subject to three-yearly upwards only rent reviews.

The property adds to MedicX's 137-strong portfolio, 130 of which are operational and fully let, with the remaining seven under construction. It owns sites in Pontypridd, Mid-Glamorgan, Cardiff, Wrexham, Abergele, Buckley and Rhymney.
