Morgan Sindall appointed to £7m Cardiff school scheme

Cardiff councillors have appointed Morgan Sindall to construct a new £7m English-medium primary school in the north of the city.

The school will be the first in the region of Pontprennau and will take on students from Llanishen, Lisvane and Thornhill.

The 14-class school will be built on land to the rear of Heol Pontprennau's community centre as part of the Welsh Government's 21st Century Schools scheme, with funding from Cardiff Council.

Tom Davies, area operations manager for Morgan Sindall, said: "The new primary school and its facilities will play an important role in the life of people living locally and we’re very pleased to have been appointed to this significant project. We look forward to working alongside Cardiff City Council on this development."

The school is due to open in September 2015.
