Nemo finds new chief executive
Alan Jarman, a former chief executive of HSBC in Wales and Poland, has taken the reins at Nemo Personal Finance, the personal loan subsidiary of Principality Building Society.
Jarman joined Principality as group chief operating officer in July 2014 after almost three decades at HSBC Group.
He will lead Nemo as chief executive and succeeds Guy Thomas, who retired last week (31 October 2014).
Jarman said: "This is an exciting and interesting time to be joining Nemo. Regulation within the secured loans industry is currently undergoing significant change and it will continue to do so as we implement the European Mortgage Credit Directive.
"I look forward to driving this change with my team at Nemo. Nemo has a long history of delivering what the market needs in this sector, and I’m keen to ensure this continues so that we are the secured lender of choice for both new and existing customers in the future."
Graeme Yorston, Principality Group’s chief executive, said: "Nemo is an important part of the Principality Building Society Group and with Alan’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the market we are confident that he will lead the business through the current industry change."
