The Corran reveals further refurbishment plans
A luxury resort in Carmarthenshire has unveiled further refurbishment plans after undergoing extensive renovations for the past 18 months.
Last year, The Corran Resort and Spa was redeveloped after being acquired by a new owner, resulting in a record number of bookings.
It has now revealed plans to build a new, permanent events pavilion within its walled garden, which is expected to be completed next spring. It will also add an additional 130 seats to its restaurant.
In April 2015, the hotel will begin construction on East House, which will comprise 28 luxury suites, an equine facility, outdoor kennels, snack bar and an outdoor children’s play area."
It also has plans to add a further 28 suites, a residential recording studio, broadcasting facility and media centre, which it has agreed to lease to Wendyhouse Productions, a London-based recording studio which has worked with One Direction, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Stevie Wonder and Ellie Golding.
"In addition to enhancing our site continuously over these three stages, we already play an instrumental role in supporting the local community," said managing director Peter Burnett.
"Our training team teaches a series of hospitality, tourism, food and beverages courses at Coleg Sir Gâr.
"We also actively support local business with 90 per cent of all food and drink served at the hotel provided by suppliers in the area. We hope that the expansion of our facilities will further support the local economy."
The new plans follow the addition of a new boardroom and function space in July 2014 and renovations to a dilapidated office into a new function room known as The Dylan Suite. A spa extension is also currently underway.
