Tracesmart to double workforce
A Cardiff technology company has revealed plans to more than double its workforce, six months after it was acquired by US group LexisNexis.
Tracesmart will create 40 jobs by the end of 2014 as it becomes the UK "centre of excellence" for LexisNexis Risk Solutions. The roles will include IT developers and engineers.
Rick Trainor, chief executive of business services at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, said: "The UK is a key expansion market for LexisNexis, on the basis of scale and growth in demand for risk solutions. We have chosen to invest in Cardiff to benefit from a thriving local IT industry and to capitalise upon Tracesmart's established business links in the region.
Recruiting will continue through to 2015 as LexisNexis tries to meet customer demand.
The company said it had experienced "exceptionally strong" demand for its data services, due to emerging regulatory requirements.
